Kamiakins Winter Sports Q & A

The winter sport teams consist of boys and girls basketball, girls bowling, gymnastics, boys and girls wrestling, and last but not least dance and cheer.  Some of the athletes weighed in on their expectations for their upcoming seasons.

Kendra Welsh (Senior) (Dance Team)

  1. “I know me and the rest of the team are really looking forward to the rest of our competition season. We are definitely excited for districts and state.”
  2. “We just got first place in both our routines in our first competition. Along with our trophies that we got there, we actually already qualified for districts as well.”

  4. “Last year we got fourth in state, and this year we are really hoping to get an even higher place. We want to win our district’s champs title back, too.”
  5. “Our whole team just wants to come together and really go as far as we can this year. I know we are capable of a lot, and I think all of us just want to keep coming out on top.”


Makena Morgan (Senior) (Bowling)

  1. “Hopefully doing better than we did last season and competing with a new group of girls and making friends.”
  2. “We have a new assistant coach and a lot of new girls on the team.”
  3. “Me and Paige Savage, Alison Armitige, Malea Biglin, and Hannah Jamison.”
  4. “I went to districts last year, and I am hoping to make it to state this year.”
  5. “I hope to have a season average of 150 or above.”


Rachel Harper (Junior) (Gymnastics)

  1. “Going to regionals and state as a team.”
  2. “We just have a lot of new people on the team.”

  4. “I got pretty far last year. I think I will get further this time.”
